About Amy and WAZ Engineering:
After ten years of experience that includes working for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, a multi-national engineering conglomerate, and a local engineering firm, Amy started WAZ Engineering in 2005. Since then, she has used the knowledge and experience she gained while managing large and complex projects at other firms to build a thriving practice.
Amy is a recognized expert in the area of hydraulic engineering and specializes in stormwater design and analysis; flood studies and permitting; drainage design; and stream and wetland restoration. Her clients and colleagues routinely seek out her depth of knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
In addition to managing her projects and day-to-day firm administration, Amy is actively engaged in several professional organizations and, most recently, served as a board member of the local chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). Amy is also active in community service and was an at-large representative of Wake County’s Stormwater Management Task Force. She holds a bachelor of science in Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University.
What to expect when you work with WAZ Engineering:
Whether you are a client or a teaming partner, WAZ Engineering is intent on delivering the highest possible level of value and service. “Amy asks a lot of questions,” says a local teammate who has worked with Amy for more than 10 years. “Her questions always save us time, money, or both.”
Among the feedback WAZ Engineering has received from clients and teammates, the themes are consistent. WAZ repeatedly receives high marks for meeting and exceeding deadlines. The firm is known for its attention to detail. And, as several clients have noted, WAZ Engineering takes an integrated approach to project delivery and consulting. “I’ve worked with Amy and her firm on projects involving both public and private entities under challenging circumstances. WAZ Engineering always considers everyone’s input to achieve consensus-based solutions.”
